The Starlink Mini works out of the box with its wall power supply and kickstand. But the moment you take it on the road, to a campsite or onto a boat, you start needing extras. The accessories market is crowded, and it is easy to buy things you never use. This checklist sorts accessories by what they do and who needs them, so you can buy the few that matter for your use first and skip the rest.

What is in the box

The Mini comes with its kickstand, a power supply and a DC cable. The router is built in. For use at home or anywhere with a wall socket, that is all you need. Everything below is for use away from mains or in a specific spot.

Power first

Away from mains, power decides how long you are online. Most owners' first purchase should be a battery or a car cable, depending on whether they mainly camp or drive.

A clip-on 99Wh pack that powers the Mini over its DC lead, so no 100W USB-C source is needed.

BigBlue POWAFREE 3 Starlink Mini Battery Pack (99Wh)

99Wh (18V, 5,500mAh; eq. 27,500mAh at 3.6V); listing says over 4 h for Starlink Mini; USB-C up to 100W output and 65W input; recharge via USB-C or DC5521 including 15-30V solar; pass-through; built-in kickstand; LCD with runtime estimate; 1.47 lb (668 g); 18-month warranty

Pros

  • Accepts 15-30V solar input directly
  • Built-in kickstand stands the Mini upright
  • Display shows estimated remaining runtime

Cons

  • USB-C input is 65W, slower than 100W rivals
  • Designed around the Mini, less useful as a general power bank

A 99Wh pack with a kickstand, runtime display and direct solar input.

CIRQUISTA 3-in-1 Starlink Mini Car Cable, boosted 20V, 9.8 ft

12-48V input; integrated boost converter for stable 20V, 100W output to the Mini; USB-C PD 40W and USB-A port; LED voltage display; 18AWG; aluminum-alloy plug shell; 9.8 ft / 3 m

Pros

  • Boost converter keeps 20V when the 12V socket sags
  • Works on 12V and 24V vehicles and power stations

Cons

  • 18AWG, thinner than some rivals
  • Plug-socket fit varies by vehicle

A boosted 12V car cable that works on 12V and 24V vehicles and power stations.

Our power bank runtime guide helps you choose capacity, and the 12V car setup guide covers vehicle power.

USB-C: check before you buy

A USB-C to DC cable lets a power bank or charger run the Mini, but only if it delivers 100W PD at 20V/5A. Anything rated 65W or lower is too weak, according to Starlink. Check your existing gear before buying a cable.

Starlink Mini USB-C to DC Power Cable, 10 ft, 18AWG (B0DDL4Y9WK)

USB-C male to DC barrel male, 10 ft / 3 m; 18AWG wire; PD trigger chip requests 20V; needs 100W (20V/5A) PD source; waterproof gasket on the barrel end

Pros

  • States 18AWG wire gauge
  • Waterproof gasket on the dish end

Cons

  • Same 100W PD requirement as any trigger cable
  • No voltage display

A 10-foot USB-C to DC cable with stated 18AWG wire and a gasket on the dish end.

Mounting second

Choose a mount after you know where you will use the Mini most. Steel-roofed cars suit magnetic mounts; aluminum and fiberglass roofs need plates or racks; boats and RVs need rail or ladder clamps.

STARGEAR Starlink Mini Magnetic Mount, 200 lb, lockable

4 magnetic bases, 66 mm, 200 lb total pull; listing says supports up to 80 MPH; die-cast aluminum; adjustable magnet holes for ribbed or smooth roofs; 8 degree tilt; locking screws for power and ethernet cables with anti-theft screwdriver

Pros

  • Locks the cable and dish against theft or pull-out
  • Adjustable bases suit ribbed roofs
  • Maker sells a steel plate for glass or aluminum roofs

Cons

  • Lower speed rating than Vehiker's claim
  • Glass or aluminum roofs need the separate plate

A magnetic mount with anti-theft screws and cable locks.

SEAVIEW Rail Mount for Starlink Mini with Stainless Rail Clamp (SVRCLMINIRCL1)

SVRCLMINI bracket locks into the Mini's antenna base; RCL1 stainless steel rail clamp fits 1 in, 1-1/8 in and 1-1/4 in rails; 1-14 threaded post so the bracket unthreads while the clamp stays on the rail; marine-grade materials and stainless hardware; no drilling

Pros

  • Clamp stays on the rail, dish comes off for storage
  • Standard 1-14 marine thread
  • No drilling into the boat

Cons

  • Only fits 1 to 1.25 in rails
  • Check your rail's outside diameter before buying

A stainless marine rail clamp for 1 to 1.25-inch rails.

Cables third

Once you know where the battery and dish sit, you will know whether you need more length. For a roof-to-indoor run with wired networking, a combined cable saves a hole.

FlenKn 2-in-1 Starlink Mini Power + Ethernet Cable, 16.5 ft (TPWLXL01)

One 16.5 ft / 5 m run carrying DC power and Cat 6 RJ45 Ethernet; 10A rated; 1000 Mbps; IPX4 gaskets on both ports; includes DC to USB-C adapter with PD chip (20V, up to 100W; listing says the PD source must supply at least 20V/3.25A); also sold in 33 ft

Pros

  • Power and wired Ethernet in one cable
  • Works with the original Mini power supply
  • Includes a USB-C PD adapter

Cons

  • IPX4 only, so keep the connectors out of standing water
  • Listing's 65W minimum conflicts with Starlink's own 100W USB-C advice; plan for 100W

16.5 feet of combined power and Cat6 Ethernet.

What to skip, at least at first

  • Inverters to run the wall adapter: DC is more efficient.
  • Cheap 65W USB-C power banks: they will not run the Mini.
  • Suction cup mounts for driving: not secure at speed.
  • Multiple mounts before you know your use.
  • Oversized power stations for short trips.

Before every trip

  1. Charge all batteries.
  2. Pack the right cable for each power source.
  3. Check mount screws and magnets.
  4. Pack the Ethernet port plug if you use Ethernet.
  5. Test the whole setup at home if anything is new.
